Business Area
Business Area refers to the scope of a specific domain or business function. It represents the division of various departments or business functions within an enterprise to better organize, manage, and handle related business activities. Typically, a system consists of multiple business areas, with each business area responsible for specific business functions or processes. Different enterprises may have different business areas, and the specific division of business areas can be determined based on the needs and organizational structure of the enterprise.
In the Metad Analytics Cloud, business areas are a classification and organizational method for differentiating various business functions, effectively managing semantic models, various indicators, and dashboards.
Here are some common examples of business areas:
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management: Covering supplier management, purchase order management, inventory management, supply chain coordination, and logistics.
- Sales and Customer Relationship Management: Including sales order management, customer management, sales quoting, sales contract management, and marketing.
- Financial and Accounting Management: Covering financial accounting, cost management, accounts receivable and payable management, asset management, and financial reporting.
- Human Resources Management: Including employee recruitment, employee training, performance management, compensation management, and employee benefits management.
- Production and Manufacturing Management: Covering production planning, material requirements planning, routing management, production order management, and quality management.
- Project Management: Used to track and manage project progress, resource allocation, cost control, and project performance evaluation.
These business areas cover the major business functions within an enterprise, enabling automation of business processes, data sharing, and enhanced collaboration.
